Crosscheck

Privacy Policy

Effective June 11, 2026
Crosscheck is a study companion for private pilot checkride preparation. This policy is short because the app's data practices are simple: your data stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Crosscheck has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal information.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter in the app — your name, aircraft details, checkride date, examiner, home airport, study progress, mock-oral scores, lesson logbook, weight & balance figures, and any POH document you import — is stored only on your device (and in your personal device backups, such as iCloud backup, which are controlled by you and your Apple account settings). Deleting the app deletes this data.

Network access

Crosscheck makes exactly one kind of network request: fetching current weather (METARs) from aviationweather.gov, a public service operated by the U.S. government. That request contains the airport identifier you ask about and nothing else — no identity, no device identifiers, no location. If you never use the live weather feature, the app makes no network requests at all. Weather requests are subject to aviationweather.gov's own policies.

Notifications

If you enable the daily study reminder, the notification is scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves your device.

Children

Crosscheck does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the app's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before the change takes effect.
